A PET becomes a friend for life, says Brenda Murphy. At her Neutral Bay shop, Four Legged Friends, she sells puppies, kittens, rabbits, guinea pigs, budgies, cockatiels and goldfish.

Dog breeds at her shop include Maltese terriers, Shih tzus, minipoodles and cocker spaniels. Cats include Himalayan, Persian and domestics.

"All our puppies and kittens are vaccinated, wormed and vet-checked," Ms Murphy said.

She also sells accessories, such as collars, leads, baskets, birdcages, food bowls, brushes, shampoos and books.

Four Legged Friends is at 107 Military Road, Neutral Bay, phone 9953 1695.

Simple Pleasures, a gift shop in Theo's Arcade, Neutral Bay, caters for all tastes, age groups and budgets.

"We have something for everybody, and that's what busy customers appreciate when they shop at Neutral Bay," said the owner, Josephine Howie.

There are wine buckets in beaten silver, cocktail shakers with a satin finish, scented and decorative candles, kitchenware, ceramics, figurines of beach belles in jazzy costumes and humorous poses, colourful umbrellas, handmade platters and fragrant oil burners in a variety of finishes such as glass, wrought iron and chrome.

Simple Pleasures is open seven days a week, phone 9953 1966.

A gift of perfume has a personal message. Look around the large department stores and you will find many of your favourite perfumes have been discontinued to make way for the many new lines on the market.

Not so if you shop at the Paradise Perfumeries at 162 Military Road (corner of Young Street), Neutral Bay, 775 Military Road, Mosman, and 273 George Street, City.
