Viceversa

Viceversa, the makers of the popular voodoo man knife block, have come up with another fun and creative way to stick the knife in with the release of a range of heart-shaped knife blocks. Available in chrome, or red, black or clear thermoplastic, they come with five stainless-steel knives and cost from $145 ($175 for chrome version). For stockists phone (03) 9555 2844.

Good clean fun

The labels on a new range of eco-friendly cleaning products certainly get them noticed, with declarations such as "I'll do your dirty work" screaming out at you in large letters. But the appeal of NZ-based brand B-E-E (which stands for Beauty Engineered for Ever) doesn't end there. Its range of design-savvy cleaning solutions have all been tested for skin safety and grey-water suitability. Oh, and they also do a damn fine job. From $6.95. For stockists phone (02) 9662 1655.

Art searching

This weekend creative souls are flocking to Art Sydney in the hope of snapping up something gorgeous ... such as one of these vibrantly coloured vases or decorative homewares from the princess of porcelain, Samantha Robinson. Her eclectic pieces, priced from $200, are among thousands of original artworks on display, including paintings, sculpture and photography. Last day today, 10am to 5pm. Tickets $20 on the door. Royal Hall of Industries, Moore Park.

Delicious legacy

These divine olive bowls are from a surprisingly affordable range of Portuguese ceramics. Eurosentio, the company that brings them here, says the collection of handmade, handpainted bowls, platters and jugs come with great credentials, hailing from the Patalim family of potters who have been producing ceramics with distinctive floral and geometric forms for six generations. Olive bowls, $8 each. For stockists phone 0412 275 707.

Bee happy

Long known for producing some of the most coveted candles in the business, Queen B (aka Cate Burton) is forever buzzing with new ideas. Among her latest is this 12cm beehive design that retails for $24.95. All Queen B's candles are made using 100 per cent beeswax, which is evident from the slightly sweet, honey aroma they give off when lit. Apart from the obvious environmental benefits, beeswax candles also burn around 10 times longer than their paraffin equivalents. For stockists phone (02) 8966 9000 or see www.queenb.com.au.

Its bright blue and yellow colour scheme is not the only reason Victa's Mulch & Catch Enviromower stands out from the crowd. The compact, lightweight electric mower from the company's new Envirogarden range also scores points for its ease of use and safety features. The cordless mower has a powerful but super-quiet motor powered by a long-lasting rechargeable battery and can run for up to 80 minutes between charges. $559. For stockists phone 1800 356 632 or see www.victa.com.au.
